Information Revolution is Changing the Course of Humanity
Information revolution is changing the course of humanity. From the way we communicate, to the way we conduct business, to the way we learn; pretty much everything has been affected by technology in one way or another. And it seems like every day, there are new advances being made that further revolutionize the way we live.
Perhaps one of the most significant impacts of this information revolution has been on education. Unlike our ancestors, who had to rely on face-to-face interaction and rote memorization to learn things, today's students have access to a world of information at their fingertips. With a few clicks, they can find out just about anything they want to know.
Of course, this isn't always a good thing. Too much information can be overwhelming, and not all of it is reliable. But if used correctly, the internet can be an incredible tool for learning. For parents interested in giving their children a leg up in this new age of education, here are a few ways you can use IT to support your child's learning:
1) Use educational websites and apps: There are now tons of different websites and apps that are designed specifically for educational purposes. These can be great resources for kids who want to learn more about a particular subject or for helping them with their homework.
2) Take advantage of online tutoring: If your child is struggling with a particular subject, there are now many online tutoring services that can help them get back on track. These services provide one-on-one instruction from qualified teachers via video chat or other platforms, making it convenient and affordable for families.
3) Encourage digital storytelling: Storytelling is how humans have passed down information for generations. In the past, stories were limited to what could be physically written down or spoken about face-to-face but now, with digital tools like blogging platforms and video editing software readily available, anyone can tell their story to a global audience. This is an excellent way for kids to share what they're learning with others and also hone their writing skills at the same time.
4) Take field trips virtually: Field trips are great opportunities for kids to explore new places and gain some first-hand experience outside of the classroom setting But sometimes they can be logistically difficult or pricey for families to attend together.. A great alternative is taking virtual field trips using Google Earth or other similar programs which provide high resolution images and even 360 degree views of locations all around the world
